COVID-19 continues to be front and center in the news and our lives. The US has over 884,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases with the virus claiming more than 50,300 lives. Job losses continue to grow. According to the Labor Department, the number of Americans applying for state unemployment benefits over the most recent five jobless claims reports is 26.45 million. Michigan, and other states, have adjusted Stay-at-Home orders in an effort to move toward reopening the economy.
Today, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed a new Executive Order that relaxes some of the prior Stay-At-Home restrictions by allowing golfing (no carts), in-state travel, motor boating as well as the opening of some businesses such as garden stores – all are subject to social distancing rules. The Executive Order requires everyone to wear some sort of face covering when out in public (effective April 26, 2020 at 11:59 pm).
